Folks:

2 new USGS maps produced from digital spatial data, below:<=
/P>
Joseph Kerski

(1) The National Atlas of the United States=
is now offering a new shaded relief and elevation map, created from a digi=
tal file of elevation values for North America. The elevation values were f=
irst grouped into ranges and assigned colors and also processed into relief=
shading, simulating the illumination of the landscape from the northwest. =
Then the colors were combined with the relief shading into a map of North A=
merica that shows both broad elevation bands and detailed surface features.=

s at a spatial resolution of 30 meters and represents a mosaic of 48 indivi=
