National Math Trail helps students explore math problems
http://www.nationalmathtrail.org/front2.html
The National Math Trail is a K-12 national Stars School Project that
provides an interactive opportunity for K-12 teachers and students to
discover the math that exists in their own environments. Students explore
their communities and create one or more math problems that relate to what
they find. Teachers submit the problems to the National Math Trail site,
along with photos, drawings, sound recordings, videos or other items that
can be adapted to the Internet.
U.S. Mint offers K-6 math lessons
"50 State Quarters" is a K-6 site developed by the U.S. Mint. The Web site
has launched a selection of lesson plans for K-6 based on the new quarters
commemorating each state in the Union. Mathematical concepts, money values,
and problem solving are emphasized as well as lessons that focus on history
and social studies.
